Secondary School Teaching: A Guide to Methods and Resources

Learning by teaching - In professional education learning by teaching (in German "Lernen durch Lehren", therefore LdL) designates a method which allows pupils and students to prepare and teach lessons or parts of lessons. Learning by teaching should not be mixed up with presentations or lectures by students, as students do not only convey a certain content, but choose their own methodological and didactical approach in teaching their classmates a certain area of the respective subject.

Micro-teaching - Micro-teaching is a teaching method whereby the teacher reviews a videotape of the lesson after each session, in order to conduct a "post-mortem". He finds out what has worked, which aspects has fallen short, and what needs to be done to enhance his teaching technique.
